We are situated in the heart of the Norfolk Countryside 2 miles North West of the Market town of Dereham. We are VERY EASY to find as long as you find our lane from the east. This is why we suggest avoiding sat navs especially if travelling from the West. Norfolk is full of little lanes and our area is no exception. Feel free to use a sat nav when you think you are close. One easy way is to set Google Maps to ‘Gingerbread Cottage’, then take the lane marked Dillington opposite.

You can see a map here but here is some detailed help:

From the North.

1. Pick up the B1110 (Holt Road) and head south. This changes to the B1146 a mile from our turn off.
2. As you near Dereham, you will enter the 40mph limit and then reach a very sharp bend in the road with a quaint cottage on your left (Gingerbread Cottage) and a turning on your right. This is quite a blind corner so take care….
3. Take this turning on the right signposted Dillington and we are  a mile or so down this lane on the right. If you go over a bridge you have gone too far!

From the North West.

1. Pick up the B1146 (Dereham Road – from Fakenham). Follow this to the Holt Road (B1110/B1146) and turn right (beware as this can be a tricky junction)

From the West

1. Pick up the A47 and travel East
2. If following your Sat Nav, please ignore it and take the turning signposted Fakenham/Scarning and the brown sign to Gressenhall Workhouse/Museum of Rural Life
3. Go right at the T junction and take the road into Dereham
4. Turn left opposite the George Hotel signposted to the Golf Course and Holt
5. In 3/4 mile take the left signposted Dillington. This left is off a very sharp bend with a quaint cottage on the right (Gingerbread Cottage)
6. We are just over a mile down this lane on the Right. If you go over a bridge you have gone too far.

From the South

1. Drive to Dereham
2. Head North out of the town and pick up the B1146 signposted to the Golf Course and Holt. The turning is just out of the market place opposite the George Hotel.
3. In 3/4 mile take the left signposted Dillington. This left is off a very sharp bend with a quaint cottage on the right (Gingerbread Cottage)
4. We are just over a mile down this lane on the Right. If you go over a bridge you have gone too far.

From the East

1.Take the A47 and travel west
2. After some time on the single cariageway you will hit a long stretch of dual carriage way. When this return back to single (Just past the Dereham Tesco turning) you need to take the first Right
3. Take this right (signposted Fakenham/Scarning and the brown sign to Gressenhall Workhouse/Museum of Rural Life
4. Go right at the T junction and take the road into Dereham and then turn left opposite the George Hotel to Holt
5. In 3/4 mile take the left signposted Dillington. This left is off a very sharp bend with a quaint cottage on the right (Gingerbread Cottage)
6. We are just over a mile down this lane on the Right. If you go over a bridge you have gone too far.

from the North East

1. Head towards Bawdeswell to pick up the A1067 (Norwich to Fakenham Road) and head west
2. After a few hundred yards, turn left to Kings Lynn and Billingford on the B1145  (Not Swanton Morley)
3. Head to North Elmham and take a left at the staggered junction by the Kings Head Hotel
4. You are now on the B1110 (Holt Road) and head south. This then becomes the B1146 a mile from our turn off.
5. As you near Dereham, you will enter the 40mph limit and then reach a very sharp bend in the road with a quaint cottage on your left (Gingerbread Cottage) and a turning on your right. This is quite a blind corner so take care so….
6. Take this turning on the right signposted Dillington and we are then a mile or so down this lane on the right. If you go over a bridge you have gone too far!
