Description:

Salvia Amistad

Salvia Amistad is one of the most spectacular of Salvias having long branches dripping with silky, royal purple flowers which look stunning against inky black stems and calyces. Long flowering period.  Plant in a sheltered position in free draining soil or be prepared to protect over the winter months.

During the flowering season (spring to late summer outside), trim back spent flowers to next leaf node. If in a pot, feed once every 3 – 4 weeks with a seaweed fertiliser.

The plant is wonderful at attracting insects and we have even seen hummingbird hawkmoths on the flowers.
