Salvia Jemima’s Gem
Salvia Jemima’s Gem
Salvia Jemima’s Gem was new for 2020. Bred by our Nursery Manager, Michelle, we are very proud of this addition as it is probably the strongest Salvia we have ever grown. The huge flowers are cerise in colour and look like velvet. It positively ‘glows’!
Extremely long flowering season from Spring to late Autumn, benefits from a heavy trim in early summer. The leaves are quite dark in colour, rounded, with a strong fruity scent.
Although some Salvias should be considered half hardy, this variety has proven to be hardy year on year during testing.
Height and spread up to 3 feet.
Excellent for pots, beds and borders.
As with all salvias, this variety is ideal for drought tolerant planting schemes. A long flowering season and popular with pollinators, it is easy to see why Salvias are growing in popularity!
Salvias are very easy to care for in the garden. Trim plants in late summer for Autumn flowering and leave plants over winter. After winter trim back in the warmth of the spring, subsequently this will promote strong re-growth.
New for 2021 – We also have another Salvia in our Gem Series – the stunning Velvet Gem!
