Whatever the scientific theories (and we have plenty of our own!), there is no doubt that the insect population has drastically collapsed in numbers over recent years. This, of course, will have an alarming effect on our precious ecosystems and natural food chains from pollinating our own food crops to providing food for our insect loving birds. In fact, the delicate natural balance of our world cannot exist without insects.  So we can all really do something by planting herbs for pollinators and help to infill their flight corridors from one nectar rich area to another. We have added filters to our website to help you choose the best plants but herewith our top ten!  Marjorams, Thymes and Lavenders;  Germander, Viper’s Bugloss, Hyssops;  Borage, African Basil, Sage, Mint:  There are so many more, of course, and don’t forget early flowerers such as Rosemary or Bugle and Autumn flowering plants such as Salvias to provide nectar throughout the seasons.
