Sage, Painted – Salvia horminum is an impressive annual sage with bright pink or purple bracts in the summer.
Not only decorative Painted Sage is also particularly attractive to bees and other pollinators. Looks great in the garden border as well as containers.
Likes a well drained soil. Deadhead faded bracts to prolong flowering over summer.
Infused leaves make a good antiseptic gargle for sore throats.
