Cotton lavender, Edward Bowles – Santolina pinnata neopolitana
Cotton lavender, Edward Bowles – Santolina pinnata neopolitana is an evergreen hardy perennial. Feathery deep cut grey foliage and cream button flowers.
Santolinas are ideal for clipping into a low border hedge as well as being a specimen plant in the garden. The foliage makes a perfect foil for other plants. It is also a good variety for containers.
Grow in a sunny spot which has well drained soil. Prune in March and after flowering in order to encourage compact growth and to keep a neat shape.
Use leaves to deter moths.
