Salvia Hot Lips – Salvia jamensis is a great salvia to grow with a very memorable name!

A very popular variety for the last ten years or so with masses of eye catching flowers in red and white. The foliage has a wonderful scent of blackcurrants too. A member of the ‘Lips’ Salvia group along with Cherry Lips and Amethyst Lips.

Grow in a sunny sheltered spot in well drained soil or in a container.

As with all salvias, this variety is ideal for drought tolerant planting schemes. A long flowering season and popular with pollinators, it is easy to see why Salvias are growing in popularity!

Salvias are very easy to care for in the garden. Trim plants in late summer for Autumn flowering and leave plants over winter. After winter trim back in the warmth of the spring in order to promote strong re-growth.
