Horseradish – Armoracia rusticana is a hardy perennial with dock like leaves. It is very invasive so it is important to choose a position carefully in the garden.

For large thick root production, plant in rich well cultivated soil.

A culinary plant, the grated root provides the famous accompaniment to roast beef. You can also add young leaves to salads for some extra flavour!
