Description:
Lavender Silver Sands (Lavandula x chaytorae)
Lavender Silver Sands – Lavandula x chaytorae
Lavender Silver Sands – Lavandula x chaytorae is a newer variety of the ‘woolly’ group of lavenders. This one is strong and sturdy therefore much better at coping with our British weather!
Gorgeous, silvery soft foliage. Deep purple flowers that are particularly attractive to bees and other pollinators.
As with all lavenders Silver Sands prefers well drained soil in full sun. Relatively easy to grow, simply cut back the flower stalks after they have finished, and then trim back plants again in April, if necessary.
Throughout history lavender has been grown for its medicinal properties. The essential oil is still in huge demand worldwide.
