Southernwood – Artemisia abrotanum

Southernwood – Artemisia abrotanum also has the name ‘Lads Love’ or ‘The Cola Plant’

A shrub which is still popular in cottage gardens.  Sprigs were put in a lover’s posie to symbolise fidelity.

The grey-green leaves have a particularly strong scent. Use in pot-pourris and in sachets to deter moths. Prune in March.
